AL'S COMMENTS: I think most guys can relate to this song. Basically it boils down to the girl just wanting to be friends, waiting for Mister Perfect to come along when Mr. Amazing wants her time and attention, and is willing to provide much for the privilege.
I really like the breakneck speed and exhuberance of this song, with the hint of Squeeze and little bit of punk and classic ska.

I’m one of The Few, The Proud
Who laugh at your jokes
And when you’re crude or loud
I know it’s a hoax
I’m always there for you
When good times abound
And when the others leave
I’ll still be around
What will it take for you to see?
The man you’re waiting for is me
I know all your hope, your dreams
Your fantasies too
I know the perfect way
To make them come true
I like your look, your feel
your age and your youth
And if you take a dare
I’ll give you my truth
What will it take for you to see?
The man you’re waiting for is me
CHORUS
Baby, I was born to be your man
Baby, I was born to be your man
One day you’ll surely wake up
And understand the plan
That baby, I was born to be your man
I’ve got me a horse, and armor
It shines like the sun
I’ll neither sleep, nor rest
‘Till the battle is won
You should be willing, and daring
To give me a try
If it is not clear by now that
I am your guy
What will it take for you to see?
The man you’re waiting for is me
Chorus
